The opening part is played in the first 8 to 10 moves

remember to castle to take your King to a safe corner

Bishops have a slight edge over the knights so if you swap ensure you have a good  reason
Pawn Structure is the key so create and Maintain one
End game
 Create a passed pawn and queen it
Win pawns. this is the important  in endgames
   If you are  ahead  with more pieces exchange same pieces
    Activate the King.  Your King becomes a strong fighting piece
